Ingredients on hand + Recipe Key (would) = Dinner and Wheelock Family Theatre Shines Again

capability mom goes to WFT The Little MermaidThere was a two day student competition event at Babson College (Celebrating Student Venturing) that finished today.  My husband attended – I was at The Little Mermaid* with children.  Anyway, here is a link to Bostinnovation where Kyle Psaty writes about the student showcase of best company ideas – not that my husband didn’t fill me in but I thought I’d give you a well-written link by a professional (Thanks for the info, honey).  While there were lots of great ideas, the one that works for me personally is Recipe Key (by Ben Saur).  It  is a recipe search web site that allows users to search for recipes based on ingredients that they already have on hand. How handy would that be? Pretty darn handy. In fact I could have used it tonight to save the 5:30 pm Whole Foods run. Am sending it over to litl webbook and bakespace – I bet they can do something great with this.

*We went to the  Wheelock Family Theatre and the production was as always wonderful.  The performers are always incredible and the sets are stunning. It looks like next year (their 30th) is going to be amazing, too.  Here is the line up for next year: Annie (October 22- November 21), The Secret Garden (January 28 – February 27)and Alladin (April 15 – May 15).  Also, WFT will be partnering with BalletRox with The Urban Nutcracker (in December) and with the Boston Lyric Opera for Hansel and Gretel March of 2011. If you get a subscription, you get 15% off and first choice of seats. It is a great theatre and there probably isn’t a bad seat in the house, but center orchestra always rocks.
